Fire TV is an excellent entertainment tool that puts everything at your fingertips. You can connect Fire TV to any device you desire, whether it’s a television or laptop, and enjoy outstanding images with vivid colors.

However, you may encounter a problem where the audio doesn’t match the high-quality visuals due to the poor built-in speakers of your television. But don’t worry, the solution to this is simple: connect your Fire TV to a soundbar. A soundbar is an exceptional audio system that provides a theater-like experience in the comfort of your home.

If you want to connect your Fire TV to a soundbar for better audio quality, follow these steps:

  1. Use an adapter if necessary.
  2. Connect the Fire TV to the soundbar using an HDMI cable.
  3. Use another HDMI cable to connect the soundbar to your TV.
  4. Change the source setting on the TV to the HDMI port that the Fire TV is connected to.
  5. Adjust the sound settings on both the Fire TV and the soundbar to optimize the audio experience.

How to Connect a Fire TV to a Soundbar

The steps listed below should take only 10 to 15 minutes, and it’s important to ensure that all three devices—your soundbar, Fire TV, and television—are within close proximity.

Step 1: Use an adapter

To connect your Fire TV to the soundbar, start by connecting the Fire TV Stick to an adapter. The Fire TV Stick comes with a cable on both ends, with one end connecting to the stick and the other end plugging into an adapter.

Connect the USB adapter to a power outlet, and then connect the second end of the USB adapter to the Fire TV Stick.

It’s important to use an adapter when connecting the Fire TV to the soundbar, as the Fire TV requires a lot of power from the outlet, and connecting it directly can cause power issues.

Step 2: Connect Fire TV With Soundbar

In the second step, you need to connect the Fire TV Stick to the soundbar. After connecting the adapter to the power source and the Fire TV stick to the adapter, insert the Fire TV stick into the HDMI port on the soundbar.

You’ll find several jacks on the back of the soundbar, but you only need to connect the Fire TV to the HDMI input. If you see an HDMI output port, ignore it, along with any other port you see on the soundbar.

Step 3: Use an HDMI Cable for TV

To complete the connection between the Fire TV and soundbar, you need to connect the soundbar to the TV using an HDMI cable. In the previous step, we advised you to ignore the HDMI Out port on the soundbar, but now you need it.

Take the HDMI cable and plug one end into the HDMI output port of the soundbar and the other end into the HDMI input port of the TV.

Step 4: Change the Source Setting

Now, to start the soundbar, you have to change the input source of the device. Use the remote control of the soundbar and go to the settings menu.

In the source setting, you will find various HDMI port numbers, and fromFrom there, you have to select the HDMI port with which you have connected the Fire TV.

Step 5: Change the Source Setting of the TV

This is the final step to complete the connection between the three devices. You need to change the input source setting onof the television.

Go to the settings menu, then to the sound settings, and change the source setting to the HDMI port number with which you have connected the HDMI cable.

If you have followed all the steps correctly and everything is connected properly, you should be able to watch the content of Fire TV on your television and hear the audio from your soundbar.

Summing it up

Poor audio quality can be a significant disappointment when you want to enjoy a high-definition movie or video. Initially, connecting Fire TV to a Soundbar can seem incredibly confusing, but once you master the steps, you can establish the connection in just a few minutes.

However, even though you have connected everything perfectly, sometimes you can face issues. In such cases, you can try reconnecting the HDMI cables and the adapter with their respective sources. By troubleshooting the problem, you can conveniently connect Fire TV to Soundbar and enjoy the best video and audio quality.
