Getting in shape? It’s not rocket science, but it’s also not always easy.

The good news is, there are tons of ways to do it.

Diets, workouts, sports—they all work, but the bottom line is: eat less energy than you burn, and build some muscle.

Here are some easy tips to help you out:

  1. Alcohol: It’s not your friend. Skip it whenever you can.
  2. Peanut Butter: Not always healthy. Check the label for added sugar.
  3. Eat Slow: Let your body tell you when it’s full.
  4. Sugar: The bad guy. It’s tough to cut back at first, but you’ll feel amazing once you do.
  5. Exercise: It’s like a happy pill. Aim for 4 workouts a week.
  6. Cardio and Weights: Both are important. Do a mix.
  7. Don’t Overcomplicate It: Find a workout routine you like and stick with it.
  8. Veggies: Eat as much as you want!
  9. Black Coffee and Sparkling Water: They can help you feel less hungry.
  10. Brush Your Teeth: A weird trick, but it works to stop late-night cravings.
  11. Cold Showers: Chill out and stress less.
  12. Good Food: Makes you look and feel good.
