Let’s Talk About Being Happy.

Life can be really tough sometimes.

I’ve been going through a rough patch lately, and it feels like everything’s falling apart.

You know those times when one problem after another keeps popping up, and you can barely catch your breath?

Yeah, it’s been like that for me.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve cried in the shower and then pretended to be okay afterwards. There have been nights when I’ve cried myself to sleep too.

When you’re in the middle of it all, it’s easy to think things will never get better.

But here’s what I’ve learned this year: even when life is super hard, we shouldn’t let it stop us from trying to be happy.

I know it sounds cheesy, but we really can choose to be happy, even when things aren’t great.

So, I’ve got an idea.

How about we try this 30-day challenge to be happier?

It’s all about doing one small thing each day to boost our mood.

Nothing too crazy or overwhelming, just little steps to help us form better habits and change how we think.

Our 30-Day Plan to Feel Better

Here’s how it works: each day, we’ll do one simple thing aimed at making us feel happier.

Nothing too time-consuming – just little actions that, over time, can make a big difference in how we feel. Ready to give it a try?

Let’s break it down day by day:

Day 1: Try Meditating

Let’s start with a bit of quiet time. Just 15-20 minutes of sitting quietly and focusing on your breathing can really help clear your mind.

Day 2: Eat Without Distractions

For day two, let’s really focus on our food. Pick one meal and eat it without any distractions. No phones, no TV, just you and your food.

Day 3: Clean Up One Room

Time to tidy up! Pick one room in your house and give it a good clean. There’s something really satisfying about making a messy space neat and tidy.

Day 4: Say Nice Things to Yourself

Start your day by saying something nice to yourself. Look in the mirror and tell yourself something positive.

Day 5: Say Something Nice to Someone Else

Spread some good feelings by giving someone a real compliment. It could be a friend, a family member, or even someone you don’t know well.

Day 6: Watch the Sun Come Up

Get up early and watch the sunrise. There’s something special about seeing the start of a new day.

Day 7: Get Moving

Time to get your body moving! A simple walk around the block, some easy yoga, or even dancing in your living room can help you feel better.

Day 8: Don’t Complain for a Whole Day

Try to go the entire day without complaining. It’s harder than it sounds, but it can really change your perspective!

Day 9: Cook Something Nice for Yourself

Make a meal you really enjoy. Put some extra effort into it and savor every bite.

Day 10: Do Something Kind for a Stranger

Hold the door open, pay for someone’s coffee, or just smile at people you pass on the street.

Day 11: List 10 Things You’re Grateful For

Before bed, write down 10 things that made you happy today, no matter how small.

Day 12: Compliment Yourself

List 10 things you like about yourself. It can be anything from your sense of humor to how you make great sandwiches.

Day 13: Do Something Just for You

Do something you enjoy without feeling guilty. Read a book, take a long bath, whatever makes you happy.

Day 14: Eat Healthy and Drink Plenty of Water

Focus on nourishing your body today. Eat lots of fruits and veggies and aim for 8 glasses of water.

Day 15: Spend Time with People You Love

Call a friend, have dinner with family, or just hang out with your pet. Connection is important!

Day 16: Treat Yourself

Buy yourself a small gift or do something special for yourself. It doesn’t have to be expensive.

Day 17: Celebrate Your Wins

Before bed, list 5 things you did today that made you proud, no matter how small.

Day 18: Watch the Sunset

Take time to watch the sun go down. It’s a peaceful way to end the day.

Day 19: Watch a Happy Movie

Pick a film that always makes you smile and enjoy it fully.

Day 20: Practice Self-Care

Do something that relaxes you and makes you feel good. It could be a face mask, a nap, or a hobby you enjoy.

Day 21: Focus on Your Breathing

Spend 10 minutes just focusing on your breath. Notice how you inhale and exhale.

Day 22: Try Something New

Learn or do something you’ve never done before. It could be as simple as trying a new recipe or taking a different route to work.

Day 23: Spend Time Outside

Go sit in a park or your backyard. Just being in nature can boost your mood.

Day 24: Take a Break and Do Nothing

Give yourself permission to just relax and do absolutely nothing for a while.

Day 25: Hug Someone You Love

Give a big hug to someone you care about and tell them how much they mean to you.

Day 26: Write About Your Day

Focus on writing about the good parts of your day, the things you’re grateful for, and what made you smile.

Day 27: Stay Off Social Media

Take a break from checking your social media accounts for the whole day.

Day 28: Buy Yourself Flowers

Treat yourself to a nice bouquet. Having flowers around can really brighten your mood.

Day 29: Take a Short Trip

Go somewhere new, even if it’s just a local park you’ve never visited or a new coffee shop.

Day 30: Reflect and Celebrate

Look back on the past month. What changes have you noticed? What activities did you enjoy most? Celebrate completing the challenge!

Wrapping It Up

I get it.

When you’re going through a hard time, the last thing you want to hear is “Just be happy!” It’s not that easy, and this challenge doesn’t pretend it is.

What it does do is give us a way to start making small, good changes in our lives.

Will this challenge fix all our problems?

Nope.

But it might help us see things a bit differently.

It might give us the strength to keep going when things get tough.

And who knows?

We might even find ourselves smiling a bit more along the way.

Remember, we’re not trying to be perfect. If you miss a day, don’t worry! Just start again the next day. The important thing is that we’re trying to focus on the good things in our lives, even when times are tough.

So, what do you think?

Want to try this 30-day plan with me?

Remember, we’re in this together.

And hey, even if we don’t end up super happy every day, at least we’ll have tried something new.

And sometimes, that’s all it takes to start making things better.

Here’s to finding little bits of happiness, even when life is hard. We can do this!
