This TN (Twisted Nematic) monitor has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 400 cd/m2 brightness rating, and support for up to 16.7 million colors in addition to the improved gaming features. This XF-series display comes with HDMI and DisplayPort inputs as well as dual 4W speakers for a full multimedia viewing experience, making installation simple.

The 24.5″ Acer XF250Q is one of the least expensive 240Hz displays you’ll find, making it a good choice whether you want to replace your old 144Hz monitor with a faster model or you’re new to fast-paced competitive gaming and want to go for 240Hz right away. Here are the results.

Image Quality

The 24.5″ Acer XF250Q is based on a TN panel with a 400-nit peak brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 8-bit color depth, and 160° or 170° viewing angles, similar to most 24.5′′ 1080p 240Hz 1ms models. You therefore get the same viewing experience in terms of image quality as you would on the majority of 240Hz monitors.

You get washed-out colors and constrained viewing angles in comparison to IPS and VA panels, but you also get a quick 1 ms response time for little ghosting. The 24.5″ Acer XF250Q monitor does provide respectable image quality with proper calibration, and the limited viewing angles aren’t a problem as long as you’re in front of the screen. It should go without saying that at this point, performance must come before image quality.

Therefore, you should choose a 1440p monitor or a 1080p 144Hz display with an IPS or VA panel instead if you want better image quality. The 24.5″ Acer XF250Q’s 1080p resolution ensures fluid performance and is not overly taxing on your GPU or CPU, allowing you to easily achieve and sustain high frame rates in eSports games.

Performance

The monitor offers a buttery-smooth gaming experience without any ghosting, motion blur, or noticeable delay thanks to its low input lag of just 3 ms and quick response time. Although the difference between 144Hz and 240Hz won’t be as obvious as it is between 60Hz, 75Hz, and 144Hz, it is still present. And you’ll want every millisecond of an advantage you can get if you’re a serious competitive gamer.

The AMD FreeSync feature, which offers a variable refresh rate (VRR) between 48 and 240 Hz (FPS), is also supported by the 24.5″ Acer XF250Q. With only a small input lag penalty (1 ms), VRR eliminates all screen tearing and stuttering. Additionally, the monitor has received the “G-SYNC Compatible” label from NVIDIA, ensuring flawless VRR performance when using FreeSync with NVIDIA graphics cards that are compatible (GTX 10-series or newer).

24.5″ Acer XF250Q Features

Acer Xf250q Abmiidprzx Review

The 24.5″ Acer XF250Q 240Hz monitor offers Black Boost, which improves visibility in darker video games, and Aim Point, which includes customizable crosshairs, in addition to the standard adjustments like brightness/contrast, color temperature, gamma, 6-axis hue/saturation, etc.

The six hotkeys located beneath the bottom bezel on the right side of the monitor can be used to navigate the OSD (on-screen display) menu. The menu has all the settings and features you’ll need, despite not being particularly user-friendly or intuitive. The hotkeys can be used as shortcuts for some operations like volume, input source, and overdrive even when the OSD is closed (Off, Normal, Extreme).

24.5″ Acer XF250Q Design and Connectivity

Acer Xf250q C back

The Acer XF250Q gaming monitor’s construction is a bit shoddy, with simple plastics, but the stand is fully ergonomic, with height adjustment up to 150mm, -5°/35° tilt, +/- 60° swivel, 90° pivot, and compatibility with 100x100mm VESA mounts.

Two 2-watt integrated speakers, DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and a headphone jack are among the connectivity options. FreeSync supports a 48-240Hz VRR range and functions over both HDMI 2.0 and DP.

24.5″ Acer XF250Q Price and Similar Monitors

The Acer XF250Q is one of the least expensive 240Hz gaming monitors, with a price range of $230 to $280.

The Pros:

  • Quick response time and low input lag
  • Plenty of gaming features, including FreeSync up to 240Hz and G-SYNC compatibility
  • fully ergonomic design
  • Good value for the price

The Cons:

  • Narrow viewing angles
  • inferior image quality compared to IPS and VA panels

Conclusion

One of the most affordable 240Hz gaming monitors is the Acer XF250Q. For a flawless competitive gaming experience, it also provides low input lag and a quick response time in addition to 240 Hz. It’s the ideal display for die-hard gamers on a tight budget.
